Experience a Tiger Safari at Ranthambore National Park with the highlights of Northern India

Ranthambore National Park is one of India’s largest and most famous national parks at 1,334 square km, and a fantastic tiger safari location, not only for the sightings but for the fantastic fort and the varied landscapes. It is a wildlife photographer’s dream location!

It’s steep rocky hills, dry forest, and grassy fields and lakes make this a fantastic location because of its breathtaking scenery. Your chances of seeing tigers here are relatively high and the park is also home to leopards, jungle cats, sloth bears, hyenas, Indian foxes, jackals and crocodiles.

The best time to visit for tiger spotting is April and May, though the more pleasant months in terms of temperature are February and March.

There are three lakes at Ranthambore:  Padam Talao, Raj Talao and Milak Talao, where plenty of wildlife congregate. Tigresses and their cubs are often spotted in the Bakaula area.

We recommend combining the Tiger Safari at Ranthambore with our Golden Triangle Tour, as the closest airport is Jaipur, which is three hours by car from Ranthambore. The three cities of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur make up India’s ‘Golden Triangle’, where there is a wealth of magnificent forts, temples, palaces and culture, the perfect way to get a flavour of Northern India. There’s the Taj Mahal in Agra, the hustle and bustle of Delhi, its markets, temples and forts. Then there’s Jaipur, the ‘pink city’, which is home to the royal family.

Ranthambore park covers 410 sq km and runs from the easternmost spur of the Aravalis to the Vindhya Range. It has both the old forest and the wildlife sanctuary, also known as Sawai Madhopur, after the town, which is home to some Jain temples with gilded paintings.
