Somak Luxury Travel is a family-owned and managed business which was established in 1968. Our main focus has always been sending leisure travellers to Africa. Historically, our biggest source market has been the UK but recently we have been very successful in sourcing clients in North America, Europe and The Middle East. As an independent, long haul tour operator we continue to prosper and are a market leader in many of the destinations that we feature. We own operations in Kenya and Tanzania that include three properties Kenya. We are looking for confident, dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team.
With all the uncertainty in Western Europe, particularly security issues and economic issues, the demand to travel to Africa is extremely high at the moment.
Thus, we need to recruit additional staff. Organising travel has become far more complicated in recent times. So successful travel companies not only need to ooze passion for the travel they are organising but they also need to be agile in organising that travel at a competitive price. It, thus, follows that people that work for successful companies need to be a) passionate and b) mentally agile in addition to all the standard criteria of being loyal, hard-working, honest, humble etc.

Position: Agency Sales Manager, UK & Europe
Location: Harrow on the Hill / Hybrid
Job Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven Agency Sales Manager with a passion for travel and a proven track record in sales.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in the travel industry, with a strong background in managing and developing
agency sales. As an Agency Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, building and maintaining relationships with
travel agencies, and ensuring our services meet and exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and increase market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with travel agencies, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the agency network.
- Provide training and support to agency partners on our products and services.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic planning.
- Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
- Attend industry events and trade shows to represent the company and network with potential clients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years' experience in sales within the travel industry.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the travel industry and agency sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
