Arusha is the capital of the Arusha Region, located in the north of Tanzania. This city is located on a plateau in the Great Rift Valley amidst the Serengeti Plains, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Oludvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. It's a breathtaking city with beautiful natural surroundings and very friendly local people.
Located at the base of Mt. Meru, Arusha is a gateway to many safari destinations on the northern safari circuit as well as Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. For this reason, Arusha is a logical starting point for many adventures. Arusha, with its population of around 400,000, is a bustling city which, whilst not an attractive city, is filled with culture and life.
