Kandy is the capital of the Central Province in Sri Lanka, located amongst the hills of the Kandy plateau. The city is home to The Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred places of worship within Buddhism; it was declared a world heritage site in 1988. Kandy is situated around the artificial Kandy Lake, and is surrounded by tea plantations and biodiverse rainforests. The climate is a humid, tropical climate, with an average annual temperatures of 27°C.
