Nairobi
Met at Nairobi airport and transferred to the Ole-Sereni
Hotel for overnight.
Day 2
Monday
Aberdares
After breakfast depart for the Aberdares (180 km –
approximately 4 hours). Arrive in time for lunch and spend
the afternoon relaxing, or on a nature walk with the
resident naturalist (weather permitting). Overnight:

Day 3
Tuesday
Samburu
Drive north across the equator to the Samburu National
Reserve (190 km – approximately 4 hours). Lunch. Afternoon
game drive. Overnight: Ashnil Samburu Camp. (b,l,d)
Day 4
Wednesday
Samburu
Morning and late afternoon game drives in this open
savannah which is traversed by the Ewaso Nyiro River.
Overnight: Ashnil Samburu Camp. (b,l,d)
Day 5
Thursday
Aberdares
Drive to Mountain Lodge on the slopes of Mount Kenya in
time for lunch (240 km – approximately 4 hours). Spend the
afternoon viewing game from the lodge, or join a nature
walk led by a local guide (payable locally and weather
permitting). Overnight: Serena Mountain Lodge. (b,l,d)
Day 6
Friday
Lake Nakuru–Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, descend into the Great Rift Valley and
continue to Lake Nakuru Lodge (240 km – approximately
4 hours) for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the national
park. Drive to Lake Naivasha (80 km – approximately
1 hour). Overnight: Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. (b,l,d)
Day 7
Saturday
Masai Mara
Drive to the Masai Mara (320 km – approximately 5 hours
30 minutes). Arrive in time for lunch followed by
an afternoon game drive. Overnight: Ashnil Mara
Camp. (b,l,d)
Day 8
Sunday
Masai Mara
Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at
the lodge. Alternatively, take an early morning balloon
flight over the Mara followed by a ‘bubbly’ bush breakfast
(optional extra). After lunch, relax before a late afternoon
game drive. Overnight: Ashnil Mara Camp. (b,l,d)
Day 9
Monday
Arusha
Drive to Nairobi for lunch (360 km – approximately
6 hours), or fly by light aircraft to Nairobi (from $295, 15kg
luggage allowance). Transfer to Nairobi airport for an
evening flight to Kilimanjaro. Transfer to Serena Mountain
Village for dinner and overnight. (b,l,d)
Day 10
Tuesday
Lake Manyara
After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National Park,
famous for its tree-climbing lions (150 km – approximately
2 hours 30 minutes). Your lodge commands panoramic
views across the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Here you
have time to relax before an afternoon game drive.

Day 11
Wednesday
Serengeti
Drive to the world-famous Serengeti National Park with
game viewing en route (235 km – approximately
5 hours). Overnight: Serengeti Serena Lodge. (b,l,d)
Day 12
Thursday
Serengeti
Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at
the lodge. Or take an early morning balloon flight over the
Serengeti followed by a ‘bubbly’ bush breakfast (optional
extra). Later enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight:

Day 13
Friday
Ngorongoro
Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge
(200 km – approximately 4 hours). Lunch at your lodge
which is perched on the jagged rim of the Crater. The
afternoon is at leisure. Overnight: Ngorongoro Serena

Day 14
Saturday
Ngorongoro
Drive down into the Crater for a half-day of game viewing.
This extinct volcano plays host to wildebeest, zebras,
buffaloes, gazelles, elephants, rhinos and big cats. Visit a
local Masai village (time permitting). Overnight:
Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. (b,l,d)
Day 15
Sunday
Extension or USA
Return to Arusha (200 km – approximately 3 hours
30 minutes). Lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to the
airport for your flight to Nairobi. Proceed with your chosen
extension (see ‘where next’) or return to the USA. (b,l)
Alternatively, there is the option to fly from Arusha to
Zanzibar for your beach extension (from $465).
