African Safari Diaries: Claire’s Safari and Beach break in Kenya
Claire visited Kenya for the second time last year, booking with us again and opting to go on an exhilarating safari, followed by a relaxing break in the coastal city of Mombasa.
She has kindly shared her amazing experience and some fantastic photos from her trip with us, and we hope you enjoy reading about her trip and seeing all her wonderful pictures.
1. Was this your first time visiting Kenya? How did you choose your itinerary?
This was my second trip to Kenya, and I chose to book again with Somak Holidays for this trip and they came up with the perfect itinerary.
2. Where did you stay whilst on your trip and what was your favourite property and place?
On arrival in Nairobi we stayed two nights at the Tamarind Tree hotel for its convenience to Wilson airport. Somak arranged for us to visit the elephant sanctuary and the Giraffe Centre, which I can highly recommend.
We then went on to spend three nights at the Mara Intrepids Camp which I can only say ‘wow’ it really is the most perfect location to see the Big Five.
The food was fabulous and the game drives exceeded all expectations.
We then flew back to Nairobi and on to Mombasa to have a week of relaxation at the Voyager Beach Resort. This was a perfect ending to a dream holiday!
Thank you Somak for making our dream come true and spending time with the wonderful wildlife that Kenya has. We will definitely be back again soon.
