This intimate safari camp is nestled on a small island close to the south-western edge of the Delta along the Boro River overlooking Chief's Island.
It is in the heart of the pristine and unique Okavango Delta, blending into the surrounding lush bush whilst enjoying views over the lagoons and floodplains.
Overlooking the confluence of the Boro and Metsematsweu channels of the Okavango, Delta Camp's guest area and deck is well elevated, affording spectacular views of swamp and riverine forest lying before it. A variety of game can usually be seen from the deck, with elephants frequent visitors, and hippos and crocodiles common sights. You can also spot many of the 450 species of birds which inhabit the delta.
The emphasis at Delta Camp is on keeping it simple and traditional. Days are spent relaxing and exploring the area by foot and in a mokoro. These excursions take place in the beautiful Moremi Game Reserve, accompanied by a local professional guide who has grown up in the area and has an expert knowledge of the flora, fauna and culture of the delta region.
The pure and authentic wilderness experience is achieved, in part, by the absence of motorised vehicles.
On a small island close to the south-western edge of the Okavango Delta overlooking Chief's Island.
There is a comfortable, elevated lounge, dining area and a deck with amazing views of this pristine land. Enjoy delicious meals and a drink with your fellow travellers. Game walks and mokoro trips are accompanied by your guide. You can also visit a local village to experience the way of life for the locals.
Rooms
The chalets, which accommodate a total of 16 guests, are designed and built to take advantage of the many indigenous trees of the island forest and blend into the landscape as discreetly as possible. This sometimes results in a tree growing through a roof or a floor, it always means that you will find no glass in the windows, and it very often means that the building itself is elevated onto a deck, to minimize any disturbance to the earth and vegetation below.
