ROVOS RAIL
Accommodation:
Rovos trains can accommodate a
maximum of 72 passengers in 36 air-conditioned suites.
All suites are designed with wood paneling and period
Edwardian features. Three types of suites are available.
Pullman Suites offer comfortable sofa seating by day,
converting to double or twin beds for the evening and an
en suite shower. Deluxe Suites offer twin or double beds,
en suite shower and lounge area. The Royal Suites are
spacious and elegant with private lounge area, full
bathroom including Victorian bath and separate shower.
Facilities:
Two dining cars accommodate all guests in
one sitting for dinner. Dress code for dinner is smart with
men wearing jacket and tie. Both the observation and
lounge cars are ideal locations to relax after dinner, and
share your experience with fellow passengers whilst
enjoying the fantastic scenery. A dedicated host is
available for 24-hour room service.
Board Basis:
Fully inclusive.
Route:
Pretoria – Cape Town (and vice versa).
Depart either mid-morning or mid-afternoon depending
on direction of travel. Over the next 48 hours breakfast,
lunch and dinner are all served in the dining car. Time on
board is spent relaxing in your private suite or with fellow
travelers in the lounge or observation carriages.
Two ‘off-train’ excursions are included. A visit to
Majiesfontein gives the opportunity to stroll through the
historic settlement. Enjoy a tour of Kimberley, an old
diamond mining town, including ‘the Big Hole’ and Mine
Museum.
