Ethiopia
Ethiopia 'the land of a thousand smiles', where you are assured of a warm
welcome, a memorable vacation, and the experience of a lifetime. It is a land
of contrasts and surprises, enchantment and wonder, remote and wild places,
and a rich history. It is the home of friendly, cultured people descended from
some of the world’s oldest civilizations.
This is the home of the Ark of the Covenant and the fabled Queen of Sheba
and the birthplace of coffee. The oldest known hominid skeleton was found in
Ethiopia.
Ethiopia features some of the highest and most stunning places on the African
continent, such as the jaggedly carved Simien Mountains, and some of the
lowest, such as the sulphur fumaroles and lunar-like landscape of the Danakil
Depression. It is also one of Africa's greatest cultural destinations, with no
fewer than 10 UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the mystical rock-hewn
churches of Lalibela.
There is just so much to see and do in Ethiopia that visitors will be spoilt for choice.
