52 Somak Holidays Victoria Falls The mighty Victoria Falls, where the Zambezi River plunges over the Batoka Gorge, is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. As well as seeing Victoria Falls, there are also plenty of other activities to keep both the adventurous traveller busy, and the not so adventurous traveller relaxed. The best time of the year to visit the Falls is from March to July, however, during the months of typically lower flows, there are ample opportunities to take a sunset cruise, experience white water rafting, or even take a dip in the Devil’s Pool, a natural infinity pool at the top of the Falls. It makes an ideal extension to any safari or beach itinerary, with excellent flight links. Just ten kilometres from the Falls is the charming town of Livingstone, where you can find an array of quaint guesthouses, with lots of lively markets and local attractions nearby.
