In this uniquely lush country you can see lions prowling the open plains in the morning, and track chimpanzees and mountain gorillas through the rainforest undergrowth the same afternoon. Queen Elizabeth National Park Named after her Majesty The Queen of England, it is Uganda's most popular and most scenic game reserve. It stretches from the crater-dotted foothills of the Ruwenzori range in the north, along the shores of Lake Edward to the remote Ishasha River in the south, incorporating a wide variety of habitats that range from savannah and wetlands and lowland forest. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is best known for gorilla tracking. The park lies on the edge of the Rift Valley and is covered in one of the oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests. Kibale National Park Kibale National Park is one of the most beautiful and varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. It is home to 13 species of primate including the chimpanzees. The park’s highest point is at 1590m above sea level. Lake Mburo National Park It is the smallest of Uganda’s national parks, but nevertheless has plenty to offer. Together with 13 other lakes in the area, Lake Mburo forms part of the wetland system linked by a swamp, hosting many wildlife species. Parc National des Volcans This park, with its densely forested Virunga Volcanoes, is the definitive place to track the rare and captivating mountain gorilla. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful areas in Africa; the majestic landscape is the backdrop to some of the most unique wildlife encounters nature offers. Nyungwe Forest National Park Nestled in the southeast corner of Rwanda, this wonderful mountainous area is home to an impressive 13 primate species. It’s covered with lush virgin rainforest and it’s here that you can find the source of the world’s longest river, the Nile. Lake Kivu The largest of numerous freshwater lakes in Rwanda. The lake’s sandy shores are bordered by steep sided hills, making for stunning scenery – a perfect place to relax after gorilla trekking. Uganda Rwanda is known as the 'land of a thousand hills' and is one of the smallest and most beautiful countries in East Africa.
