www.somak.co.uk 19 Where to stay in Nairobi Nairobi is a busy hub, with a wide range of hotels, from the luxurious to more affordable, spread throughout the city. The ones we would recommend are as follows: Nairobi National Park Nairobi National Park is the location of the iconic Planet Earth shots of rhinos and giraffes against the backdrop of the Nairobi cityscape. This park was Kenya’s first established park. It is a good option to start your safari holiday right from the time you arrive, and the properties we suggest offer more than just a stay. Ololo Safari Lodge Offers the warmth and comfort of a home with effortless style and personalised service. The lodge is situated right on the edge of the African wilderness, overlooking Nairobi National Park. Nairobi Tented Camp Nairobi Tented Camp is the first and only accommodation to be built within the confines of Nairobi National Park. The camp is built on environmentally conscious principles and has little impact on its surroundings. What’s included at Ololo Safari Lodge and Nairobi Tented Camp ✯ Full board accommodation with selected drinks and evening sundowners ✯ Game drive in Nairobi National Park ✯ Visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (entrance fees payable locally) Giraffe Manor Next to the Giraffe Centre is the famous Giraffe Manor, an elegant and exclusive hotel, famous for its resident herd of giraffes who often peek their heads through the windows.
