It has plenty to offer from the mighty Victoria Falls to the granite boulders of the Matobo Hills, to the worlds’s largest artificial lake, Lake Kariba. Victoria Falls One of the 7 natural wonders of the world, this is where the Zambezi River plunges over the Batoka Gorge resulting in an impressive display. It’s possible to walk to the Falls from the town of Victoria Falls for a head-on view. Matusadona National Park A rugged, wild park on the shores of Lake Kariba, the Matusadona Park has been a sanctuary for game since before the lake was built. With the lake came various changes, one in particular being the large increase in elephants and buffalos. Zimbabwe Hwange National Park The largest game reserve in the country, located on the border of Botswana, spanning over 1.4 million hectares. It’s home to a variety of habitats, vegetation and wildlife, including the ‘big 5’ and over 100 other mammal species. Mana Pools National Park One of the most popular parks for those looking for a unique safari adventure. Usually explored by canoe or on foot, it is home to large herds of elephants and buffalos, and fantastic bird watching. Matobo National Park The park boasts an intensive protection zone where a large population of black and white rhinos are successfully breeding. Nestled in the Matobo Hills, the park is home to a range of wildlife, including zebras, giraffe, primates, big cats and black eagles. Lake Kariba Lake Kariba is among the 4 largest man-made lakes in the world. It boasts spectacular sunsets, boating, water sports and it’s terrific for fishing, a great place to relax and unwind.
