arua
About the size of Belgium and relatively remote, with an unusual combination of East and Southern African wildlife and birds. The park is noted for large numbers of greater kudu as well as lesser kudu, sable and roan antelope, buffaloes, elephants, lions and African wild dogs.
Ruaha is rich with wildlife, and aside from rhinos, all of the traditional safari animals are found here. The park is famous for its large population of elephants, but lions are also common here, with more than 20 individuals inhabiting the park. Giraffes, hippos, buffalo and zebra are all easily spotted here, as well as the lesser and greater kudu, roan antelope and sable antelope, too. One of the key draws to this area is the African wild dog, who can be spotted in Ruaha's grassy plains. There are also occasional sightings of leopards, cheetahs and rare viewings of hyena, too.
